Apple & Sweet Red Pepper Juice (High Vitamin C Drink)
Ingredients:
460g organic fuji apples, about 2 whole ones
495g organic sweet red peppers, about 2 to 3 whole ones
66g of peeled organic lime or lemon
43g fresh organic ginger root
0 to 300ml of water, to adjust taste as preferred
Directions:
Cut the apples, sweet peppers, ginger and peeled lime into small sizes and add to a blender or juicer with the desired amount of water to adjust the spice of the ginger and overall taste of the juice.
Blend on high speed until all the components are fully pulverized.
If using a blender, strain the juice using a nut milk bag instead of a sieve to achieve a clean and pulp free juice and taste the juice to adjust taste
Keep the bulk of the juice in a sterilized glass container, store in the refrigerator and use within 4 - 5 days.
Optional: Pour the juice into ice-popsicle makers to have as a snack on a warm day.
Notes:
Aim to use organic produce to make juices like this to aid and nurture your wellbeing since you will be drinking their water content.
Although sweet red pepper have the highest amount of Vitamin C compared to its counterparts, if they are not available, you may opt to use yellow, orange or green sweet peppers. But do not combine red and green or the juice will turn brown, unless it’s preferred.
Use sweet red peppers to make red sauce for a Margherita pizza and pasta instead of tomatoes.
