Golden Milk Latte

Golden milk latte

Golden milk latte, made with warm and fresh spices like ginger and turmeric, paired with silky cashew milk is the perfect cozy winter drink to support your immune system during this winter and keep you golden (there might be some truth to that). Have a cup while you watch the snow fall.

Ingredients:

1 tbsp grated ginger

1 tbsp grated turmeric

1 tsp cinnamon powder

2 pinches red chili pepper

2 pinches crushed black pepper

500ml cashew milk or your favorite plant-based milk (make it 250ml if adding in 250ml water)

250ml water (optional, if you prefer a thin latte consistency)

2 tsp honey

Directions:

  1. Prepare a clean saucepan and place all the ingredients in it except the honey.

  2. Stir gently and bring to a slow simmer for about 2 minutes until the liquid turns yellow or golden, rather. Turn off heat and strain the golden milk into your favorite mug.

  3. Stir in the honey to sweeten and enjoy.

Notes:

  • Want to use turmeric powder instead? It just would not taste the same. Period! You'd be left with a powdery after taste depending on the brand of turmeric you use which will compromise the cozy effect of this golden milk latte. Be sure to opt for fresh turmeric root to reap its health benefits while enjoying your latte.

  • If you prefer to use equal to amounts of milk and water to make this golden milk latte, some content separation will occur. To prevent this, omit the addition of water and only use milk to make the recipe. Viola
